Post-doctoral research station of computer science and technology

The post-doctoral research station of computer science and technology is established based on the discipline of computer science and technology. In 1985, the undergraduate program of computer science and technology was established. The master's degree of computer application technology at secondary discipline level, and the master's degree in computer science and technology at the primary discipline level were established in 1994 and 2005, respectively. The discipline of computer science and technology was approved to be constructed as a provincial key discipline and the 12th-Five-Year-Plan doctoral program of Yunnan Province in 2007 and 2012, respectively. The right to conferring the doctoral degree of computer science and technology at the primary discipline level was approved in 2018. It was approved to build a provincial and national post-doctoral research station in 2018 and 2019, respectively. At present, the discipline has become an important base for teaching and scientific research of Information Science in Yunnan Province. It has cultivated a large number of high-level talents for Yunnan Province and the nation, including 17 doctoral students and more than 1500 master students in related disciplines.

At present, there are 110 full-time teachers, 30 professors, 56 associate professors, 15 doctoral supervisors and 86 doctoral degree holders under this discipline andhasformed a high-level academic team with reasonable educational-background and age structures. Among them,1 is listed in the first batch of national “ten thousand talents plan” (leading talents in science and technology innovation),1 in national “Bai-Qian-Wan Talents”,1 in “young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions”,1 in “special allowance of the State Council”,1 in “young and middle-aged leading talents in science and technology innovation of the ministry of science and technology”,1 in “science and technology leading talents in Yunnan Province”.2 are listed in the national "ten thousand talents plan",2 in “Yunling scholars”,2 in “Yunling talents plan”. There are15 who listed in “young and middle-aged academic and technical leaders”, “technical innovation talents” and “Kunming academic and technical leaders”.2 are listed in “provincial outstanding contribution experts”,1 in “provincial government special allowance”,2 in provincial "thousand talents plan",7 in provincial "ten thousand talents plan",10 in “Yunnan Provincial young and middle-aged academic and technical leaders and reserve talents”.

The discipline is constructed revolving around the national strategy and the economic needs of Yunnan Province. It focuses on scientific research and high-level talent training in the areas of natural language processing, information retrieval, image processing and computer vision, intelligent sensing and intelligent system, service computing and trustworthy software. The discipline is supported by a strong scientific research platform with the laboratories’ area of more than 15000m2, including 6 provincial and ministerial key laboratories and engineering technology centers, 5 provincial innovation teams. They are: Yunnan Key Laboratory of Computer Technology Application, Yunnan Key Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence, Yunnan Key Laboratory of Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Computingin HigherEducationInstitution, Yunnan Key Laboratory of Massive Language Information Processing, Yunnan Smart Grid Engineering Technology Research Center, Yunnan Collaborative Innovation Center for Smart Grid Fault Detection and Protection Control, YunnanProvincial Innovation Team of SystemProtection andControl, Yunnan Provincial Innovation Team of Advanced Computing in Software Technology and Application, Yunnan Provincial Innovation Team of Pervasive and Trusted Computing, Yunnan Provincial Innovation Team of Complex System Intelligent Detection and Control.

In recent years, more than 300 national, provincial, ministerial and enterprise commissioned projects have been completed, with the scientific research funds reaching 200 million yuan. 97 national projects, and 1 national key R&D projectare funded in 2018. 1 key project, 1 joint project, 10 general projects, 1 national key R&D project ant its 3 subsidiary projects are funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2017. More than 20 national and provincial science and technology awards, including 1 second prize of national science and technology progress, 1 first prize ofnaturalscience award in Yunnan Province, 2 first prizes of science and technology progress in Yunnan Province, 1 first prize of technological inventionawardin Yunnan Province, 1 Technological Invention Award of the ministry of education, 2 first prizes of teaching achievements in Yunnan Province, 2 second prizes ofnaturalsciencea award in Yunnan Province, 4 second prizes of science and technology progress in Yunnan Province. There are 9 third prizes for technological progress award and 2 third prizes for technological invention in Yunnan Province. 2500+ academic papers, 300+ patents of invention and 30+ monographs are published. The research results have beensuccessfullytransferred and applied to the industriesincludng public security, electric power, metallurgy, tobacco, and others,yeilding remarkable social and economic benefits worth more than 3 billion yuan.
