Runsheng Hanis a second-class professor and doctoral tutor. He has enjoyed the Special Government Allowance of Chinese State Council (2013), and is also National Talent of "New century National Pacesetter Project" (2006), Yunling Scholars in Yunnan province (2014), New Century Excellent Talent in The Ministry of Education (2006), Winner in The Third Huang Jiqing Youth Geological Scientist (2006), Young and Middle-aged Academic and Technical Leaders across the century in Yunnan province (2004) and Yunnan Top Intelligent Academics (2003),etc. He is a director of Southwest Institute of Geological Survey, China Geological Survey Centre for Non-ferrous Mineral Resources, and a chair professor of Geological Processes and Mineral Resources Innovation Team and a leader of Mineral Resources Engineering Laboratory of Mineral Resources Prediction and Evaluation (YM Lab) in Yunnan province, China. He is a committee member for International Tectonic and Metallogenic Committee, and associated director of Applied Geochemistry Committee, committee member of Ore Deposit Geochemistry Committee of Chinese Mineral, Petrology and Geochemistry Society, and committee member of Exploration Geochemistry Committee of China Geology Society.

Research direction:Dynamics of tectonic ore-forming processes and concealed deposit prognosis, Metallogenic mechanism and ore-forming regularities of mineral deposit, Ore deposit exploration technology, Ore-field tectonics and Deep mineral resources exploration.
